St Mary’s University, Twickenham, is a public university situated in Strawberry Hill, Twickenham, in southwestern London. Founded in 1850, it is generally recognized as the oldest Roman Catholic university in the United Kingdom. Formerly known as St Mary’s University College, it received a full university degree from the Privy Council on January 23, 2014.The main campus is located on Waldegrave Road in Twickenham, on Strawberry Hill House, which is the best example in the UK of Gothic-Renaissance’s architecture.Nowadays, about one-third of the programmes offered at St Mary’s are dedicated to teacher education and there is an increasing number of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in subjects such as Sports, Theater, Theology and Business.
